Job Spec:

All-day café and wine bar, offering coffees, lunch and dinner to the local community to eat in, a 60-cover per service, take away with in the summer months, the opportunity of outside dining.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced full-time Junior Sous Chef to join our Back of House team.


General overview for the ideal Junior Sous Chef:


–          Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a similar establishment

–          Pizza maker experience would be beneficial

–          Has experience of working in a kitchen environment with ovens and induction

–          Excellent management, training and delegation skills

–          Motivation, commitment, success orientated with a ‘can do’ attitude

–          Knowledge and diversity from previous roles to the team

–          Enthusiasm, drive & desire to learn

–          Imagination & creativity in the development of new recipes and dishes

–          Good financial skills, understanding of budgets, forecasting, stock control and GPs

–          Excellent understanding of Health & Safety practices, safe working environments, Food Safety, HACCP etc.

–          Food Safety Level 3 or Level 4 would be beneficial

–          Will ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food is always of the highest quality


The benefits for joining as a Junior Sous Chef:


–          Offering approx £12.50 to £14.50 per hour or £30,000 to £34,000 per annum plus yearly bonus

–          Part time, full time and casual hours available – Full time is 5 straight shifts or approximately 45 hours a week Monday to Friday with weekends off

–          The restaurant is closed on weekends, 10 days over Christmas, 2 weeks in August, 4 days over the Easter weekend and Bank holidays
